Position Summary:
The Development Offi cer will play a key role on the development team, working within the strategic operations and goals of the Development team to meet a $1.2M annual revenue goal, making a strong contribution internally as part of the Development team and the organization’s event planning committees.
Position Responsibilities:
Planning & Strategy
- Help to develop and execute annual fundraising plan
- Build strategies to be used all year for various development projects
Event Coordination
- Oversees event planning committees comprised of board members, staff, and volunteers for events that generate significant revenue
- Provides overall oversight and management of Thrive’s major fundraising events, including Lily Ball and the Drive for Thrive golf tournament, managing all aspects of event strategy, planning, execution, fundraising, committees, vendors, and post-event evaluation
- Leads Development team in strategy for maximum impact of Give Big Gallatin Valley campaign, working closely as well with Marketing team
- Organizes and attends community outreach events to cultivate donors, working closely with Business Partnerships Offi cer to represent organization
Portfolio Management
- Manage own large portfolio of donors giving $1-4999 using engagement strategy
- Meet regularly with Executive Director, Systems Manager, and Business Partnerships Offi cer to review quarterly goals
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Business, Management, or a related fi eld or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
- 3+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising
- Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail needed for event planning
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills
- A clear understanding of nonprofi t organizations and appreciation of the Thrive mission
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working with CRM software, preferably Salesforce
- Experience working in children’s advocacy, family education, or social work a plus

- Exceptional organizational skills to keep detailed, easily accessed, organized records and resources
