Position Summary:
CAP Coordinators manage the Child Advancement Project (CAP), which pairs community volunteers with students in grades K-12 within Bozeman and Belgrade Public Schools. The primary responsibilities of a CAP Coordinator include program coordination, mentor ongoing support and supervision, and mentor training. CAP Coordinators play a crucial role in facilitating meaningful mentor-student relationships that contribute to students’ academic performance, class participation, and overall school engagement. This position works in the school(s) and the Thrive office during the academic year. Employees in this position travel between the sites daily and must be able to effectively work with little supervision while shuffling between the school(s) and the Thrive office.

Position Responsibilities:
● Works as part of a team to recruit, screen, train, and match all mentors at assigned schools.
● Provides consistent and effective management and support to mentors.
● Provides training for mentors.
● Assists mentors in identifying methods and resources necessary to a child’s achievement of goals.
● Communicates effectively with school staff about program procedures, including timelines for referrals, policies, and parental permission.
● Facilitates clear and effective communications between teachers and mentors.
● Visits each assigned school building daily, at times and locations accessible to school staff.
● Participates in student referral screening and facilitates student success meetings with Parent Liaisons.
● Facilitates communication with parents regarding program details, goals and status updates.
● Works closely with and develops trusted relationships with Thrive and Bozeman School teams.
● Facilitates cross-team cohesiveness and increases communication effectiveness.
● Assists in creating an effectively functioning program within the school(s).
● Participate in student referral screening and facilitate student success meetings
● Facilitate communication with parents regarding program details, goals, and status updates.
● Collect data, conduct surveys, and track attendance, participation and program specifics to evaluate the effectiveness of Programs
● Assist in developing future goals and determining the needs to meet such goals
● Meets regularly with and provides regular updates to immediate supervisor about current work happenings.
● Attends monthly staff meetings and quarterly team-building activities.
● Participates in occasional Thrive events within the community outside of normal work hours.
● Works as part of the Thrive team by supporting other team members and various organizational programs.

Education, Training, Experience & Certification Requirements:
● Four year degree in education, sociology, psychology or related field
● Plus, 1-2 years of experience managing volunteers and working with community agencies and/or public schools, as well as an understanding of strength-based services and child development, is preferred
● Additional working knowledge of local community resources is preferred
● Spanish language skills are a plus

This position pays $34,900, commensurate with experience. It also includes:
