Transforming Explosive Behaviors Into Cooperation

Transforming Explosive Behaviors into Cooperation

John Sommers-Flanagan is a clinical psychologist, professor of counselor education at the University of Montana, and author or coauthor of over 100 professional publications, eight books, and numerous professional video trainings with Psychotherapy.net, Alexander Street Press, and John Wiley & Sons. Two of his books, co-written with his wife Rita, include Tough Kids, Cool Counseling and How to Listen so Parents will Talk, and Talk so Parents will Listen. John is a sought out national and international keynote speaker and professional workshop trainer. John’s resource and opinion blog at johnsommersflanagan.com receives approximately 12,000 hits per month (and includes parenting tip sheets). He is also co-host of the Practically Perfect Parenting Podcast. Although having access to a microphone gives John urges to sing old Beatles songs—much to the relief of anyone listening—he’s usually able to resist those urges.

Past Thriving Institute topics include:
Helping Your Child with Anxiety, Raising Resilient Boys, and Parenting Middle Schoolers
