Thrive Awarded Pivotal Grant Toward Strategic Growth Campaign

Bozeman, MT (Feb. 25, 2016) – Thrive, a local nonprofit serving children and families in the Gallatin Valley, is pleased to announce that it was just awarded a $220,000 matching grant from the prestigious M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust, an organization which seeks to strengthen the region’s educational, spiritual, and cultural base in creative and sustainable ways.

The highly-competitive 3-year grant will fund critical infrastructure within the organization as part of Thrive’s larger Growing Tomorrow initiative, a 1.5 million dollar capital campaign aimed at expanding the organization’s capacity to serve 40% more children and families by 2020.

Currently, Thrive provides free and low cost mentoring, education, and support services for thousands of children and parents in Gallatin County through innovative programs such as the school-based CAP mentoring and Parent Liaison programs, and a myriad of family support opportunities from community events like Gym Days and Thriving Dads to intensive home-visiting services for teen parents.

Thrive’s growth plan is a proactive response to supporting the needs of the rapidly growing population in our community, which is on track to double between 2000 and 2030. According to trends in current program participation, Thrive predicts they will need to expand their services to reach over 11,000 individuals over the next 5 years to keep pace with demand for their programs.

With the addition of this new award, to date Thrive has raised over $763,000 toward their 1.5 million dollar Growing Tomorrow goal. This campaign will fund Thrive’s critical five-year growth plan and significantly increase the number of children and families they are able to serve each year.

Thrive is currently seeking individuals, businesses, and foundations who are interested in joining the Growing Tomorrow initiative. Contributions made to the campaign over the next three years will be matched by the trust.
