What is Girls on the Run®?

Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based positive youth development (PA-PYD) program designed to enhance kids’ social, emotional and physical skills and behaviors to successfully navigate life experiences. The program’s intentional curriculum places an emphasis on developing competence, confidence, connection, character, caring and contribution in kids through lessons that incorporate running and other physical activities. The life skills curriculum is delivered by caring and competent coaches who are trained to teach lessons as intended.

How does it work?

  • Any 3rd - 5th grade child in Gallatin and Park counties can register at one of the sites.
  • Teams will meet twice a week after school from 3:30 - 5:00PM for 10 weeks:
    • Big Sky site location
      • Ophir Elementary - Tuesdays & Thursdays
    • Bozeman site locations
      • Hawthorne - Mondays & Wednesdays
      • Irving - Mondays & Wednesdays
      • Longfellow - Mondays & Wednesdays
    • Livingston site location
      • East Side Elementary - Tuesdays & Thursdays
  • End of season celebratory 5K.
  • Season begins the week of September 13th.
  • Cost: $100
